A strong explainer brief does not need to prescribe every animation. It should give the creative team enough product truth, audience context and production constraints to make good decisions. Copy the prompts below into your project document and replace the guidance with approved information.
1. Project summary

2. Message and evidence
The audience problemDescribe the situation in the audience’s language.
Product promiseState the useful outcome without unverified superlatives.
Three priority featuresExplain the benefit and proof for each feature.
Approved claimsList statistics, customer statements or compliance wording that can be shown.
Call to actionThe exact next step and destination URL.
3. Product flow
- List the product states or screens in the correct sequence.
- Provide a clean demo account with realistic, approved sample data.
- Identify features that are unreleased, confidential or likely to change.
- Mark where cursor movement, zoom, labels or simplified UI recreation may be needed.
- Define whether the video should show the literal workflow or a conceptual animation.
4. Assets and brand
- Logo files, brand colors, fonts and motion guidelines
- Current UI files, screen recordings or design prototypes
- Approved script, pronunciation notes and voiceover direction
- Music and stock licensing requirements
